It is crazy to think how we spent the majority of this year dealing with a pandemic and now 2020 is coming to a close. But through it all, I have a newfound appreciation for the place that I call home. As I look for new ways to upgrade little corners around my cozy house, one thing I cannot stop investing in are candles! I am indeed a home fragrance junkie and with the change in seasons, obviously comes the change in candle scents. Here are my top favorite fall candles and where to purchase them for your own home sweet home. Be sure to buy backups for the rapidly approaching holiday season too because they make wonderful gifts!
Otherland – Tapestry
If you are looking for a sophisticated fall scent, look nor further than Tapestry by Otherland. This particular candle is part of their Manor House Weekend collection and is the epitome of autumnal chic. It is inspired by the countryside where such seasonal activities like bonfires and cider sipping would ensue. Key notes in the Tapestry candle include burnt maple, smokey oud, and vetiver.
Anthropologie – Cider Copper Mug Candle
Consider this next one candle meets home decor. This cider scented candle from Anthropologie had me instantly sold because of the presentation in this gorgeous copper mug that can be reused once you are through burning it. If you love the typical fresh-pressed apple scent for this time period, this is the candle for you.
Jo Malone – Glowing Embers
For those you like to stick with the tried and true, Jo Malone is the brand that will never fail you in terms of strong, long-lasting candles. The Glowing Embers scent from the Townhouse Collection is a comforting scent that will make you feel like you are wrapped up in a cashmere blanket, warming by an open fire. Plus, it comes in beautiful, minimal ceramic votive that’s perfect for gifting!
Voluspa – Persimmon & Copal
Firstly, I love Voluspa because of their signature glass jars. They are so incredibly beautiful and not only do they make any room smell divine, but they look impeccably chic whilst doing so! This fall scent has notes of Japanese persimmon, lychee flower and red copal, making it a really decadent, yet sweet smell that will warm up your home this season
Malin + Goetz – Leather
The weather is getting cooler so not only is it time to revisit your favorite leather jacket, but it may also be time to light this new leather candle from Malin + Goetz. This is a more androygnous, universally appealing scent that is perfect to burn in the office or the living room. The website describes it as having the “softness of a well-worn vintage find” and I couldn’t agree more.
Maison Louis Marie – No.04 Bois de Balincourt
Sandalwood will forever be a classic scent that can be burned all throughout the year; however this new one I discovered from Maison Louis Marie adds a really nice updated twist to it. It features a cinnamon nutmeg complex and woody note that’s perfect for this time period. You can buy it as part of a this set from Sephora and save up to 20% off!
Diptyque – Noisetier
Another cult candle classic is Diptyque and one of my favorite fall candles by the brand is Noisetier. When lit, you’re enveloped in a hazelnut scent that’s woody, fruity, and tart all at the same time – and in the most elegant way. It’s heartfelt and comforting around this time of the year.
P.F. Candle Co – Pumpkin Spiced
Fall just wouldn’t be fall without a hint of pumpkin spice. Amirite? This candle is an ode to crisp air and cooler nights – and can be so comforting and welcoming. The three top notes in this fragrance are nutmeg, pumpkin and brown sugar, which basically smells like Thanksgiving.
Nest – Spiced Orange & Clove
As a part of their holiday collection, the Spiced Orange and Clove candle is a fall favorite! It features the essence of orange pomander and spice brandy with hints of cinnamon, anise and gingered honey. This is a really great, warm scent to burn when you have a few guests over. I promise you will receive a ton of compliments!
Brooklyn Candle Studio – Noir Collection Candles
The Noir Collection set from Brooklyn Candle Studio comprise of 3 amazing fall candles. Santal is my favorite and reminds me of a Christmas tree and cabin trip concoction – just in time for the holiday season. The other two (Hinoki & Neroli) are classic woodsy scents that you can’t go wrong with. I love how the candles are presented in a luxe, matte black votive.
