A man was arrested on Kiambu Road after engaging police officers in a 2-hour shoot-out over a house party.
Officers had a hard time disarming the rowdy man who was randomly firing rounds from the window of his house at Coral Bell apartments in Thindigua.
Footage seen by Citizen Digital showed scores of tenants trying to catch a glimpse of the late-night drama from corridors and balconies as police officers ducked for cover.
On getting wind of the impending arrest, the unidentified man went for his gun, with reports indicating that he fired at least 16 times before he was cornered.
In late April, police officers arrested 39 women at Nasra Estate, along Spine road in Nairobi’s Eastlands at a wedding celebration.
The 39 who had congregated despite a ban on social gathering were placed under mandatory quarantine at their own costs.
The party was still in full throttle by the time police officers stormed the estate on Sunday evening.
Three women attempted to escape the police swoop by climbing into the ceiling but were cornered and arrested.
The latest comes with the government reiterating on the need for Kenyans to practice social distancing.
The Kenyan government is currently using technology to monitor Kenyans who are congregating past curfew hours.
So far, Kenya can confirmed 649 cases of the coronavirus, 207 recoveries and 30 fatalities since the pandemic was first reported in the country.
