Alien Huang has died at the age of 36. The Taiwanese actor and pop star, who was known as ‘Little Ghost’ to fans, is said to have been found dead at his flat by his father. According to local media, the Taipei Fire Department received a report the body of a man in his 30s had been found in an apartment in the Beitou District on Wednesday morning.
Police say that Haung’s death appears to have been caused by an accident in his bathroom, according to United Daily News. Huang is said to have returned to his home at 7pm on Tuesday evening with police receiving a call from a family member at 11.27 on Wednesday morning that the he had been found unresponsive.
Huang is best known as a former member of Japanese boy band HC3 and of the Taiwanese group Cosmo but also forced a successful acting career. He starred in numerous TV dramas and in 2008 launched his own clothing line Alien Evolution Studio, that is still in business.
Following news of his death, tributes have poured in from his colleagues in the entertainment industry and fans. Singer and actress Raine Yang, who dated Huang when they were at school, said the pain she was feeling was indescribable.
Huang is the third Asian celebrity to have died at the age of 36 in the last three days. Earlier today, it was reported actress Ashina Sei had died by suicide on September 14. Korean actress Oh In-Hye attempted suicide on September 14 and died in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.
