Kenyans have taken to social media to condemn the Member of Parliament for Malindi Aisha Jumwa after she turned a popular Christian worship hymn into a praise song for Deputy President William Ruto.
The MP, who has in recent times turned herself into the DP’s most vocal supporter, gave her rendition of the hymn, Hakuna wa kufanana whose words she turned into ‘Hakuna wa kufafana kama Ruto’.
The irony is that Jumwa sang the song in a church set up at the weekend when she accompanied the DP to St Jude Catholic Church Muanda, Bumula, Bungoma County for a church service.
The fiery MP went on to demand for the resignation of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i’s over the gold scam saga.
She claimed that Matiang’i allowed the General Service Unit (GSU) to guard the homes of those implicated in the scandal.
“How can you use General Service Unit to safeguard the home of those involved in the criminal activity?” she posed.
Kenyans however saw Jumwa’s action as blasphemous, since many Christians identify with the worship song in churches.
Aisha jumwa we respect your religion but stop blaspheming God in your rallies in the name of Ruto because very soon things will never be the same

Aisha Jumwa : “?Hakuna wakufanana na Ruto, hakuna wa kufanana naye? ×2”
This is so imbecilic and outrageous for one to compare a common mwananchi to God. pic.twitter.com/WmP1XioFa7— Egalitarian ?? (@Bontae_254) May 19, 2019
Aisha Jumwa pulls a remix of one of the gospel songs.
Aisha: ? Hakuna wa kufanana na Ruto, hakuna wa kufanana naye. Ruto anaweza, Ruto anaweza, Ruto anaweza. Hakuna wa kufanana naye. ?
