A group of legislators from Amani National Congress (ANC) want the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals to name a presidential candidate by next month.
Led by Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala, the legislators gave ultimatums, saying time is running out and the race for State House is gaining momentum.
As ANC we do not OKA to be holding Musalia on parking indefinitely. We want to know our candidate right away,” said Lurambi Member of Parliament Titus Khamala.
They were speaking Saturday while addressing rallies in Matunda, Kakamega County.
The legislators further threatened to seek alternative political alliances if the principals will not have settled on a candidate to fly the OKA flag in next year’s general election.
“We have told our OKA counterparts that we want to know our presidential candidate by 25th of December. If we will not have been told the candidate, whom we know is Musalia Mudavadi, we have decided we will move forth as ANC and engage other people,” Butere MP Tindi Mwale satated.
On November 5, OKA principals Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang’ula, Gideon Moi, and Kalonzo Musyoka, announced their nationwide presidential campaigns.
They, however, said they would name their presidential candidate within eight weeks.
