Anita Nderu shuts down fat-shaming fan style in style

Media personality Anita Nderu has responded to a fan who body-shamed her.

“Those stretch marks na hujazaa…” read the disheartening comment in reference to the snap that captured Anita in a bikini.

In a quick rejoinder to the fan’s post, however, Anita lectured the fan that the flaws and imperfections she had were the very essence of being a human being.

According to Anita, she chose to go ‘edit free’ in 2020 because she wanted everyone to feel confident in their skin.

“I chose to go edit free this year because I want everyone to feel confident about who they are. If a photo was taken on my phone, that is how I will post it. This is how I look in real life, why should I lie to you I look any other way?” she added.

Clearly irritated by the comment, the former Capital FM presenter went on to add that she would post anything she wanted on her Instagram account.

She further cautioned netizens against body shaming adding that no one was perfect.

“For some reason, this post really touched a nerve. It is my Instagram account though, so I shall post whatever I please. I shall continue to dissuade body shaming because that actually makes a lot of people feel bad about themselves and there is no need for that, man or woman, no one was born “perfect” and there is no need to seek that “perfection” you are lovely just the way you are,” she wrote.

The beauty also warned those with nothing positive to say: “If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. Keep scrolling or unfollow, it is really never that serious.”

The TV host had about a week ago urged women to cease being each other’s enemies and instead be kind and supportive.

She added that there were many opportunities and everyone was capable of becoming a queen without destroying the other.

“Women really are each other’s worst enemy and it is so unnecessary. The pie is so massive there needs not to be one queen. We can all win. How cool would it be if we looked after each other and treated each other like we do everything else? Can we just sisterhood the hell out of each other, please? If men can do it surely, we can do it better.”

“We are better at everything I fiercely love, support and root for womankind. Let’s woman up! We are an incredible species. Let us always be there for each other. Empowered women, Empower women. Be confident enough in yourself and your ability,” read part of Anita’s post.

Early this month, the former Teen Republik host revealed that she battled depression for five months in 2018.

“I had the unfortunate luck of dealing with humans who made my life difficult daily. I walked away from what can only be termed as a very toxic situationship. I wish them all well though no one deserves to feel how they made me feel,” she opened up.
