14-day quarantine for international travellers into the UK

International travellers arriving into the UK will have to go into quarantine for 14 days in a bid to stem the second wave of Covid-19 virus. There will be spot checks and those that fail to self-isolate for the duration face fines of £1,000.

This also applies to Britons who are returning home from a trip abroad.

There are exemptions including travellers from the Channel Islands and Ireland, as well as truckers and medical officials.

There will be a form to fill in with personal details and health officials will spot check to ensure compliance.
