BET Awards 2023: The Complete Winners List

Beyoncé, SZA and Latto won big at Sunday’s ceremony.

It was Black culture’s time to shine and thrive at the 2023 BET Awards, which took place Sunday at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

Hip-hop was at the center of the awards show as the network honored the 50th anniversary of the genre with a night of tributes and performances. Though only a few award announcements were telecast, the women of hip-hop, R&B and pop dominated the wins this year.

SZA and Beyoncé, neither of which were in attendance, both won in three categories, tying for Album of the Year for their “SOS” and “Renaissance” projects, respectively.

It was an emotional win for Coco Jones, who took home Best New Artist, and for Latto, who won her second BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Teyana Taylor, who accepted her award via FaceTime, won for Video Director of the Year.
