Carol Radull: How I Lost Senior FKF Job in Recent Appointments

Media personality Carol Radull has revealed that she was approached by officials from the Ministry of Sports who offered her a job at the new Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee and Secretariat.

According to Radull, she received a call from a senior person in government who wanted to know if she would be interested in being part of the new committee. However, her inquisitive nature saw her left out of appointments.

Radull, on Saturday, November 13, stated that she wanted time to think about the offer and communicated the same to the official, but the appointments were made in a very short time.

The sports media personality went on to explain that her inquisitiveness cost her the position. She, however, stated that she was not worried as she could not take up the job without understanding what it entailed and what was required of her.

She went on to reveal that shortly after dropping the call, the list with the names of the new FKF Caretaker Committee members was made public.

“I naively thought they had given me time to weigh pros and cons and to understand what I was getting into. But an hour later… Boom! A list. We move on! hehe,” Radull narrated.

All this happened on Thursday, November 11, when Sports Cabinet Secretary, Amina Mohamed, disbanded the Federation that is led by Nick Mwendwa after she received a report on the investigations into the massive financial malpractices reported at the body.

CS Amina had been presented with an audit report on FKF by Sports Registrar, Rose Wasike. In her report, Wasike recommended further investigations to be carried out into the financial books of the Federation.

Following the recommendations, Amina went ahead to install a caretaker committee to lead the government’s efforts to reform the body.

The Sports CS named the committee now headed by Justice (Rtd.) Aaron Ringera. The committee will lead the Federation for a period of six months.

Additionally, the CS also named a secretariat that will help in running the affairs at the FKF. KTN’s Linda Ogutu will head the secretariat with the assistance of Michael Muchemi (Secretary) and Loreen Shitubi (Joint- secretary).
