‘Churchill Show’ comedian appeals for help to undergo urgent surgery – Nairobi News

Churchill Show comedian Zulekha Suchn has made an appeal to the public to help her raise funds for her to undergo an endometriosis surgery.

The former radio presenter, through her Facebook page, has let her fans know of her plight and her need for an urgent surgery to contain the condition.

“Friends kindly help me raise funds for an upcoming urgent surgery that I have to go through,” Zulekha wrote.

She further said that the disease is progressing as days go by and she urgently needs to undergo treatment.

“The doctor said it’s exceeding day by day and that I should go for surgery to control the disease. Kindly help me with anything little. May Allah bless you,” she wrote.

ENDOMETRIOSIS

But just what is endometriosis?

According to a Nairobi based consultant obstetrician gynecologist, Dr Wanjiru Ndegwa, endometriosis is a chronic debilitating disease that affects some women.

As a result, innumerable Kenyan women are suffering silently – some unknowingly – as a result of endometriosis whose symptoms of painful periods are at times assumed to be “normal” for women of reproductive age.

Some of the symptoms include painful periods and pain during sex and its diagnosis is a laparoscopy.

Last month, media personality Janet Mbugua Ndichu revealed that she has been struggling with endometriosis since 2005.

In a candid revelation on social media, the former TV news anchor said that for years since her high school days, she struggled with painful prolonged periods.
