Drs. Theresa Tam, Bonnie Henry & Deena Hinshaw Honoured via T-Shirts

In times of adversity, it’s always refreshing to see the ways in which the human race draws together to support one another. Case in point: amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, two Calgary-based designers have joined forces to create a limited edition collection of T-shirts in celebration of three of Canada’s public health heroines.

Brands SophieGrace and Madame Premier have released three T-shirts – one depicting Dr. Bonnie Henry, the chief medical officer of British Columbia, another with Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the chief medical officer of Alberta and one with Dr. Theresa Tam, the chief public health officer of Canada. The shirts are made from 100 per cent Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton (meaning they’re incredibly soft) and the designs were created by Calgary artist Mandy Stobo.

Retailing at just $45, all of the net proceeds from sales of the collection will be donated to local organizations working to provide food security across Canada during these uncertain times: Greater Vancouver Food Bank in BC, Fresh Routes in Alberta and Second Harvest in Ontario.

In a release, Emma May, the founder of SophieGrace, said, “Both of our brands are focused on honouring women and celebrating their success. Seeing these incredible women of science help guide and calm us through these unprecedented times inspired us to do something to help.”
