Every Call of Duty League Florida homestand map in a sentence

It was a weekend full of upsets, controversy and achingly close matches, but in the end, the Atlanta FaZe triumphed at the Call of Duty League Florida Mutineers homestand. Emily Rand has the recap of every single map in the tournament in a single sentence.

Day 1

Atlanta FaZe 3, Paris Legion 1

Azhir Cave, Hardpoint: A late rotation from Atlanta seals the deal for the FaZe, who go up 1-0.

St. Petrograd, Search and Destroy: Despite Atlanta’s win here, I think one of the areas where other teams have been catching up to them over the past few events is on S&D.

Gun Runner, Domination: Atlanta try for a late triple-cap but Paris hold onto their lead.

St. Petrograd, Hardpoint: Despite a strong late hold from Paris, Atlanta dominate this map 250-117.

London Royal Ravens 3, OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 2

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: The Ravens start off strong with great performances from both Wuskin and Dylan.

St. Petrograd, Search and Destroy: It’s Slasher’s turn to shine as he takes the spotlight in a surprisingly convincing S&D performance for OpTic.

Gun Runner, Domination: Strong control of the B site from both sides of the map gives OpTic the lead in the series 2-1.

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: London have an excellent second rotation where they take the lead and don’t look back.

Piccadilly, Search and Destroy: Playing against Wuskin on Piccadilly just seems like an absolutely miserable experience.

Toronto Ultra 3, New York Subliners 1

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Methodz and Classic have strong numbers, but the Mack puts up 38 in a Subliners victory.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: Toronto come roaring back with a convincing S&D win, allowing only two rounds to the Subliners.

Hackney Yard, Domination: Toronto take A and B with a minute and a half to go, forcing the lead change and eventually a narrow two-point Toronto win.

St. Petrograd, Hardpoint: The Ultra pull off the upset victory against Toronto with a convincing hardpoint.

Minnesota RØKKR 3, Florida Mutineers 0

Rammaza, Hardpoint: Skyz puts up a great effort for the Mutineers, but the RØKKR come out ahead.

St. Petrograd, Search and Destroy: The RØKKR have a strong 6-2 S&D performance, with much better setups.

Hackney Yard, Domination: Whenever I see Florida on dom, I always think they’re somehow going to pull it out, but credit where credit is due to the RØKKR who blow out Florida 3-0 after losing to them at their last event.

Day 2

Atlanta FaZe 3, London Royal Ravens 1

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: This map should have been restarted and replayed.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: This was not a close S&D round at all and it goes to the Ravens.

Hackney Yard, Domination: The Royal Ravens take the first half of the map, but FaZe come back in the second for a 2-1 lead.

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Cellium, Simp, Priestahh, and Abezy all put up 30 or more kills in a convincing 250-130 hardpoint win.

Toronto Ultra 3, Minnesota RØKKR 1

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: Toronto start off strong after yesterday’s victory against the Subliners by taking Map 1 off of Minnesota.

Piccadilly, Search and Destroy: The RØKKR come back with a strong showing from Alexx and better setups on Piccadilly.

Hackney Yard, Domination: When RØKKR capped A and B flags, I thought they would be able to control the rest of the second half, but Ultra stormed back with B and C control in addition to a near triple-cap.

Rammaza, Hardpoint: I thought this map was RØKKR-favored, but Toronto break through with nearly a 150-point win.

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 3, Paris Legion 0

Rammaza, Hardpoint: Paris bring things really close with a late contest and break onto Ruins despite OpTic getting the first rotation, but Slasher and OpTic come out ahead.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: This back-and-forth map goes to Round 11, where OpTic get First Blood and snowball from there.

St. Petrograd, Domination: OpTic get a late triple-cap to pull even further ahead before sweeping Paris.

New York Subliners 3, Florida Mutineers 0

Rammaza, Hardpoint: New York have better breaks and get the first rotation onto Ruins to win Map 1.

Rammaza, Search and Destroy: I honestly thought this was going to be a Mutineers victory after the first four rounds, but Mack has an insane performance and the Subliners go up 2-0 in the series.

Hackney Yard, Domination: Any one of the Subliners can pop off at any time and on this map it’s Attach.

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 3, London Royal Ravens 0

Azhir Cave, Hardpoint: Kenny and Dashy go big in this first hardpoint win.

St. Petrograd, Search and Destroy: The Royal Ravens avoid being swept on this map, but it’s still a dominant victory for OpTic.

Hackney Yard, Domination: OpTic overcome an early Ravens first-half lead to sweep the series.

New York Subliners 3, Minnesota RØKKR 0

Rammaza, Hardpoint: A 249-250 loss on hardpoint is definitely a tilter.

St. Petrograd, Search and Destroy: Another narrow loss for the RØKKR, this time in Round 11.

Gun Runner, Domination: This is the closest 0-3 loss I’ve seen all year, and certainly the closest on this day of sweeps, but that likely makes it feel worse for the RØKKR, not better.

Day 3

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 3, Toronto Ultra 2

Rammaza, Hardpoint: Chino hasn’t solved all of OpTic’s issues but they do look so much more comfortable on their hardpoints with him in the lineup.

Rammaza, Search and Destroy: A convincing win for the Ultra, who have consistently better setups and coordination.

Gun Runner, Domination: OpTic make several strong late pushes for a triple-cap, but Toronto narrowly hold onto their lead and win 142-141.

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Another close map but this time OpTic pull it out with another hardpoint victory.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: This comes down to Round 11, where OpTic redeem themselves from their disappointing performance on Rammaza S&D to take the series.

Atlanta FaZe 3, New York Subliners 2

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Atlanta holds onto their lead throughout the map, despite NYSL coming close several times to a lead change.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: The Subliners take over the series momentum after Temp gets the defuse in Round 6.

Gun Runner, Domination: NYSL try to come back in the second half, but Atlanta breaks their A-B control and gets an insurmountable point lead.

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: New York stall FaZe’s on what ends up being the second-to-last hill and then get first rotation on the last one to win 250-247.

Gun Runner, Search and Destroy: I can’t help but wonder if this is the first time that one map has been played in all three game modes in one series this year but that aside, Atlanta put up another strong S&D round to take the series.

Atlanta FaZe 3, OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 1

Azhir Cave, Hardpoint: TJ and Dashy pop off to give OpTic a strong start to the series.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: Round 11 begins with a sniper kill trade between Simp and Dashy which is hilarious in and of itself, but it’s worth watching this round for Cellium’s clutch 1v2 to win Atlanta the map at the end.

Hackney Yard, Domination: FaZe’s control of the B flag in the second round allow them to pull away with the lead.

St. Petrograd, Hardpoint: Cellium once again comes up big for his team and Atlanta win their second tournament of the year.
