The change of seasons has definitely inspired me in terms of fashion. I love exploring out-of-the-box or non-traditional outfits because, in a lot of ways, it is a creative outlet for me. Now that flowers are blooming and the sun is shining, I am finding my fashion sense swayed by this contagious vibe and have been reaching towards brighter colors, bolder prints and fun embellishments in response. I am also someone whose mood is very much swayed by the clothing I am wearing and there are quite a few looks that have made me feel uplifted and cheerful. If you are looking to add a similar pep to your step with some new style inspiration, here is a roundup of some of my recent favorite spring outfits.
Touch of Metallic
One way to liven up any outfit is with a little bit of sparkle. This matching yellow jacket and skirt set is definitely adorable on its own, but I wanted to take it up one more notch to add additional dimension. To do so, I layered this beaded halter top underneath to not only add a pop of color to break up the yellow, but to add that touch of glam I love so much. I further accentuated the shine by also adding a metallic silver handbag into the mix too. The result of this opulent spring look is an outfit that is cheerful thanks to the blend of citrus colors that is elevated thanks to the addition of just the right amount of shine.
Animal Outerwear
Another way to infuse sophisticated glam into your spring outfits this year is through neutral animal prints. Rather than large, multi-colored patterns that lean more towards the wild side, look for more tonal options for a muted look. By doing so, you can play into the ever popular animal trend without it being too loud. This tiger printed outerwear is the perfect statement piece to layer over an outfit. Or you can keep it belted and wear it as a pseudo-dress for something different. Just slip on your favorite pair of heels to pull the whole look together.
Casual Suit
I have talked endlessly about my love for the suit trend and I have no plans on stopping anytime soon. This oversized tan set has been my latest tailored obsession as of lately. In this look, I also style the blazer as a top instead of layering a shirt underneath. I also wanted to emphasize the bagginess of the trousers so I decided to actually tuck them into my heels for a more tapered effect. I consciously decided to wear shoes in the same color family as the suit to make it look like an extension of the fit, rather than a standalone accessory. Finally, I grabbed a chain structured shape purse and donned a classic red lip.
Statement Sleeve & Leather
The puffy statement sleeve is still having its moment and who am I to deny its infinite charm? I simply cannot seem to get enough of them and I love this ruched one in this trendy lemon-lime green shade. Statement sleeves definitely lean towards the more romantic, feminine side so naturally, I wanted to toughen up the look a bit to add some edge. What better way to do so than with some striking leather pants? I absolutely adore the effect of the light and lofty top with the stark bottoms.
Bold Monochrome
For the last look, I opted for a really bold monochrome moment. Hot chili pepper red always makes me feel some type of way and on this particular day, I was feeling extra spicy! I wore coordinating crimson separates to create this blazing spring outfit. I truly think a monochromatic look is an easy way to make a chic statement, but especially when you feel courageous enough to go for a bright color.
Which of these spring outfits is your favorite?
