House adjourns after Babu Owino clashes with Muturi

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has adjourned Parliament prematurely citing gross disorder after Embakasi East MP Babu Owino refused to leave the chamber after his order.

The Speaker had earlier ordered Mr Owino to leave the House as Wajir Woman Rep Fatuma Gedi was tabling evidence following her claims that Deputy President William Ruto had grabbed land in four Kenyan counties.

Mr Muturi had directed the Woman Rep to back her claims -which she made on Tuesday- today.

But as the MP was making her case, Mr Owino had a run in with the Speaker who ordered him out of the chamber.

However, the Embakasi East MP refused to obey with Parliament orderlies seen pleading with him to comply.

At 5:20pm, the Speaker, citing Standing Orders, adjourned the House to May 10.

The House was set to adjourn today at 6:30pm to May 10.
