There are plenty of people out there who find bold colors a little intimidating to wear and trickier to style. However, throwing a little color into the mix is a fun way to feel energized and add flair to your day to day life. If you are not quite ready to take the plunge and dress in highlighter hues, perhaps you are interested in dipping your feet in first. The easiest way to add color to your wardrobe make your winter outfits pop is through accessories. In this post, I want to share my go-to colorful winter accessories and how to style them in a neutral wardrobe!
Bright Beanie
Since it is chilly out, kill two birds with one stone by staying warm and injecting color into your look. A bright, colorful knit beanie is the perfect way to do so! It is not a large financial commitment and is a seamless way to add more bolder hues into the mix. A largely neutral outfit is also immediately revitalized with this fun topper. If you are into the look, it is so easy to stock up on knit beanies in a multitude of colors so you can have them on rotation!
Bold Earrings
If you are cautious of color, start with jewelry. I’m particularly fond of bold earrings as a means to make your winter outfits pop. Just keep the rest of the outfit simple and dark so the earrings can be the focal point. If you are feeling up for it, you can even throw in a complimentary matching accessory – like shoes or a handbag – to further tie the look together.
Handbag
A handbag is a larger accessory investment, but they’re totally worth it! A punchy, colorful handbag you can style with multiple outfits is going to be a huge game changer. A casual, everyday style shoulder bag is ideal if you want to to brighten up your daily, neutral-based wintertime looks. Or a clutch or evening bag in a pop of color will accentuate all your formalwear and tack on a lot more style points!
Exposed Socks
Exposed colorful socks are the affordable, chic addition you need to add to your winter wardrobe. Everything from yellow and green to printed socks are both playful and chic! Plus, you can wear them all year long with sneakers. To make your winter outfits pop though, try rocking your house slippers with socks in a contrasting color like Hazel and I did above.
Statement Boots
Last but not least, my other suggestion to effectively make your winter outfits pop is via shoes. If you are feeling adventurous, a bright pair of ankle (or maybe even knee-high) booties are zesty and daring! A neutral wardrobe really comes in handy for this investment because it makes styling them a piece of cake. Just throw on your favorite variations of black or beige and pop on your bold colored booties to put a pep right in your step.
How do you like to make your winter outfits pop?
