National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua held talks on Saturday which culminated in what now appears to be the formation of a Muturi-led alliance.
Muturi, who was recently coronated as Mt Kenya’s spokesperson, said in a statement following the talks that he is currently meeting with like-minded Kenyan leaders with the goal of forging an alliance that will seek National Unity.
“This is part of many conversations that I’m holding with various leaders so as to elevate the agenda of national unity to the national platform,” Muturi said on Saturday. “In the days and weeks ahead I will be reaching out to various leaders so that we can cement this agenda moving forward.”
Muturi said he is also committed to fostering partnerships that will benefit the Central Kenya region.
“Together, we will reach out to leaders across the width and breadth of this country to have a meaningful conversation about taking our nation to the next level.” Muturi.
The Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua in turn offered her unyielding support to Speaker Muturi, adding that she will help rally her supporters behind the National Assembly boss.
“Go forward, JB. You have my unreserved support in this journey. I will walk with you, and rally the people to support you,” she offered.
“I look forward to public meetings where I can come with you and ask the people to back you for the top job,” she added.
