Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli has declared a contest in the upcoming Kibra by-election. The Cotu supremo predicted that ODM candidate Imran Okoth will emerge victorious in the upcoming Kibra by-election by 10am on D-day.
Atwoli made the prediction on Wednesday night while appearing on Citizen TV’s JKL show. He said all his predictions always come to pass.
Asked who he thinks will be victorious and succeed the late Ken Okoth in Kibra, between Jubilee’s McDonald Mariga and the deceased’s brother, Imran Okoth, Atwoli argued that the ODM candidate will win the polls by 10am.
TAKE IT TO THE BANK
“By 10am, Imran will be the Member of Parliament for Kibra. Take it to the bank and I have no apologies to make over the same,” said Atwoli.
He added that some political parties have that a tendency of candidates using money to entice voters which will not help them achieve much because ODM is the most popular party in Kibra Constituency.
The Kibra seat fell vacant after Ken Okoth succumbed to cancer.
The by-election, which is set for November 7, 2019, will see several candidates take part in the race including Imran (ODM), Mariga (Jubilee), Eliud Owalo (ANC) and Ford Kenya candidate Khamisi Butichi, among others.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has set Monday, November 4, as the last day for the campaigns ahead of the poll to pick the late Ken Okoth’s successor.
