Inside Inooro TV Anchor’s Side-Hustle Serving MPs, Celebrities [VIDEO]

Inooro TV news anchor Muthoni wa Mukiri is known to many for her talents as a journalist, delivering prime time news bulletins on the Royal Media Services (RMS)-owned station.

Unknown to many, however, Mukiri is also an astute entrepreneur in her own right and is the owner of Mukiri Hair Hub which deals with premium wigs and human hair.

The Nairobi-based business has attracted several celebrity clients; among them Citizen TV news anchor Mashirima Kapombe, comedian Teacher Wanjiku, Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici and Kameme FM presenter Wambui Muturi.

Mukiri is actively involved in the running of the business and also uses her star power to promote the operation through her social media platforms.

The news anchor also models some of the sought after wigs herself, sharing stunning photos when she isn’t too busy with her day job as a journalist.

She disclosed on Tuesday, May 19 that her business was feeling the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic even as she voiced her optimism that the situation would improve.

“Let’s keep praying for things to normalize soon and keep the hope alive. Remember all in all God is always faithful and he always keeps his promises,” she shared.

Other than the store in Nairobi’s Hurlingam area, Mukiri’s hair hub also delivers wigs and human hair to foreign destinations and other counties in Kenya.

Interestingly, the presenter was a professional model long before hitting Kenyans’ screens and undertook various campaigns for clients in the hair and beauty industry.

It was this experience, coupled with demand she observed from Kenyan women for quality hair, that led her to open the business.

“I have been in this business for long, Mukiri Hair Hub was inspired by my fans that used to ask me where they can get the best hair and these prompted me to research and find a solution.

“Millions and millions of women have different tastes for hair products and thus innovators of women products just need to be creative and design products that attracts the market,” she asserted.
