K24 news anchor Anjlee Gadhvi is dead

SUMMARY

You fought that cancer beast with all your might. You did it for your kids, husband.

Never lost hope. You always smiled through the pain & insisted on coming to work even at your weakest points.

K24 news anchor Anjlee Gadhvi is dead.

Gadhvi passed away on Friday, January 10, at the Aga Khan hospital.

Her colleagues and friends took to social media to condole with her family and below we have sampled some of the condolence messages:

Peter Opondo: Oh my friend….You fought that cancer beast with all your might. You did it for your kids, husband. Never lost hope. You always smiled through the pain & insisted on coming to work even at your weakest points. We believed you were winning…until now! RIP my friend.

Gladys Gachanja: Oh my! My condolences. She fought bravely. May she rest in peace and may her courage give others hope.

Martin Wachira: Sad. May her soul rest in peace (RIP) and may God give comfort to the family and colleagues at Mediamax.

Nick Mudimba: Rest in peace my friend.

In 2018 Gadhvi opened up on her battle with cancer and radiotherapy sessions in hospital saying they were not easy.

Through an Instagram post, Gadhvi divulged that she was often strapped in a single position with her arms stretched above her head and this caused her body sores.

The anchor further added that this led to an inflamed throat and swallowing food was a struggle but a few months later there was remarkable improvement in her health and she was going about her life as usual.

Gadhvi was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2013 but went public about it in 2015 after various treatment options had drained funds raised by family and friends

She eventually appealed for public help and received a donation of over Sh6 million from Kenyans in hours.

May her soul rest in peace.
