A dormitory at Kakamega High School was early Saturday morning burnt down.
Citizen Digital has established that the fire started while students were in class for their morning preps.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established, with authorities saying no casualties were reported.
This follows similar incidents witnessed in a number of schools across the country in the past two weeks.
A dormitory at Buruburu Girls High School in Nairobi was also burnt down this past week, in an incident that left a number of students hospitalised after inhaling smoke.
Parents of students at the school will now pay for damages incurred on the institution’s premises following the fire that occurred last Sunday.
In a notice, the school’s administration told the students to report back on Monday and Tuesday next week in the company of their parents with Ksh. 1,500 to cater for the damages.
