Three guards at Komothai Girls Secondary School have been arrested in connection to the killing of a 17-year-old Form Four student from Gathiruini Boys Secondary School who died after being subjected to mob justice after allegedly sneaking into the Girls School.
The trio who are expected to appear in court tomorrow were arrested a day after detectives from Kiambu Police Headquarters recorded statements from the students over the incident.
Detectives are still searching for five boys who escaped after the deceased was cornered when they sneaked into the neighbouring school.
According to DCI boss George Kinoti, the student and five others walked out of their school on Thursday at 4 a.m. and crept into a girls dormitory at Komothai girls secondary school.
“They had under the cover of darkness tiptoed into Phoeb House for an unknown mission, before they were spotted by some girls who immediately raised alarm, attracting the whole school,” Kinoti said.
According to Kinoti, the school’s guards, teachers, and students all rushed to the dormitory to see what was going on.
“The other five boys managed to trace their way back to their school while the deceased was cornered by the angry students and staff and beaten,” he said.
The boy would succumb to injuries while receiving medical care at a local hospital.
“Crime scene detectives later visited the scene and recovered planks of wood suspected to have been used to assault the suspect,” he said.
