Lady Gaga has revealed she’s taken steps to self-isolate after speaking to scientists in response to the continued spread of the coronavirus.
The Just Dance singer took to Instagram to say she and her beloved dogs would be staying safe behind closed doors and she’d also taken the devastating decision not to visit her grandparents for the foreseeable future.
Speaking to her followers, she began: “So I talked to some doctors and scientists.
“It’s not the easiest for everyone right now but the kindest/healthiest thing we can do is self-quarantine and not hang out with people over 65 and in large groups.
“I wish I could see my parents and grandmas right now but it’s much safer to not so I don’t get them sick in case I have it.
She then added: “I love you world, we’ll all get through this. Trust me, I talked to God – she said we’re gonna be ok.”
33-year-old Gaga suffers from with fibromyalgia, a condition that affects the nervous system and causes pain throughout the body.
In the past, the chronic pain has been so severe that the pop star was left unable to perform and forced to cancel several concerts in 2017, which prompted her to open up about the diagnosis.
The World Health Organisation has confirmed the coronavirus has killed more than 5800 around the world since it broke out last year.
In response to the pandemic, countries have been put on lockdown and mass gatherings banned in some areas in a bid to stop the disease spreading any further.
On Friday President Donald Trump declared a national state of emergency to release $50bn to fight the spread of the disease.
Trump also took a test himself after coming into contact with Fabio Wajngarten, an aide to the Brazilian president, was among those later confirmed to have the disease.
A White House spokesperson later confirmed the president has tested negative.
Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were the first famous faces to test positive for coronavirus.
The couple, who have been married for more than 30 years, had been in Australia filming for an upcoming Elvis Presley biopic when they both fell ill.
Tom told fans on social media: “We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else.
“There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no?”
The Oscar winner revealed they went to get tested after experience tiredness, colds and body aches.
