Barcelona have not been the imperious outfit of old this season, although they remain top of the table. They’ve lost three of their 13 matches in the campaign, including a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Levante in their last road outing. Ernesto Valverde’s men did regain their form with a 4-1 hammering of Celta Vigo, but it has only kept them ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference. Barca cannot afford to be sloppy today.

Domestic action returns after the international break and Leganes are in need of a positive result against the league leaders to add their plight at the bottom. The club have taken only six points from their 13 matches to date, although they ended a run of back-to-back defeats last time out against Real Sociedad, playing out a 1-1 draw on the road in Javier Aguirre’s first match in charge. The new manager will need another spirited effort this afternoon from his team.
