Veteran singer David Mathenge, better known as Nameless penned down a beautiful message to his wife Rosemary Wahu Kagwi on her 40th birthday. The Sinzia hitmaker shared his message on Instagram, attaching several photos of their family.
“Mama-yao. My life-partner. Teammate. Twa-mate. May you continue discovering your inner brilliance and wisdom,” he wrote.
Nameless hoped that the year would mould his wife´s life into one that impacts and inspires masses.
“As you enter a new year of growth and self-discovery, may you continue understanding your gifts and passions and use them to impact and inspire as you live in purpose. Happy birthday babe. Wazitooo, help me wish this African beauty queen a happy bithday filled with love and laughter.”
On her part, the Sweet love hitmaker thanked God for life, health and family.
“When I look over my shoulder, I see evidence of His hand of mercy and favour. And so, I know that even as I enter a new year, He will continue to be with me. Thank you, father, for love, life, health, the gift of family and friends. Thank you – my online family, for always showing me love,” she wrote.
Challenges in marriage
Married for over a decade now, the celebrity couple has never shied away from letting their fans in on their ups and downs as far as marriage is concerned.
During a radio interview in early 2019, Nameless revealed how he almost walked out of his marriage.
“When we got married, we had no strategy. There were many ups and downs and at times, the pressure was too much. See, my wife fell pregnant almost immediately after our wedding and you know how cranky they can be. I think I was not fully prepared. One day, I packed my things and wanted to leave.”
“Looking back, it has been a journey. The most challenging thing in our marriage was trying to understand our differences.
“It was until I read the book, ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ and I knew there were things I needed to change,” he said.
Nevertheless, when Wahu announced that she is now a gospel artist, many of her fans wondered how her switch to gospel would be like considering that her husband is still a secular artist.
In response, the mother of two revealed that she is never bothered by her husband’s decision to remain in secular music.
“What we always tell each other is strive to understand before you are understood. I am born again but he is not. That does not mean I should force my beliefs on him,” she said.
The music legends met in 1998 when their friend Neto introduced them to each other.
