Knock me down with a feather, Chico the parrot is squawk of the town with his cover version of the Beyonce hit, If I Were A Boy. Chico entertains visitors at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park by belting out the opening lines of Beyonce’s 2008 No1.
Other hits high in Chico’s pop pecking order include Lady Gaga’s Poker Face and Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. Nine-year-old yellow-crowned Amazon parrot Chico arrived at the park in Boston, Lincs, 18 months ago. Film of him singing the Beyonce number has been an online hit.
Park boss Steve Nichols said: “After more than 25 years working with these amazing birds, they still never cease to amaze me.”Who’d have thought a parrot would cause social distancing problems due to being so popular.”
Yellow-crowned Amazon parrots are from South America, Panama and Trinidad and Tobago, and can live up to 100 years.
