Officers claiming to be from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for the better part of Sunday night and Monday morning camped outside the homes of Bomet Senator Christopher Langat and his Kakamega counterpart Cleophas Malala.
Senator Langat, speaking from a window of his Nyayo Estate home in Nairobi in a video shared on social media, claimed he was being threatened and intimidated “from all corners” over his stand on the government-backed revenue allocation formula.
Langat alleged that he had however been expecting the officers saying he was earlier informed by top police officials in Bomet that he was needed for quarantine but refused to honor the summons.
This, he stated, was a mere ploy by unknown government operatives to ensure he does not make it to Monday’s sitting at the Senate to vote on the revenue formula.

Senator Malala, on his part, also from a video shared on social media, confronted the said officers who camped outside his home at 3a.m from the balcony saying that was not an appropriate hour to carry out an arrest.
The officers claimed to have been sent by one of their superiors known as Pius Gitari to bring the Senator in for questioning but Malala declined to oblige.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has since alleged that Samburu Senator Ltumbesi Lelegewe had been arrested and was being taken to Samburu for questioning.
Murkomen threatened to stall Monday’s Senate sitting if the police do not back down and the three legislators are no released.
