A prisons officer attached to Nairobi West Prison was arrested on Saturday night on suspicion of impersonation.
According to a tweet on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations’ (DCI) official handle, Constable Joseph Dida Gumi was arrested following numerous complaints from members of the public.
Two of Constable Dida’s accomplices are at large after they evaded arrest.

The suspects are being accused of impersonating DCI officers.
The DCI however didn’t state where the arrest was made.
The two suspects who escaped are still being sought after while the arrested suspect is being held in police custody.
