Public Service Commission scales down operations after staff test positive – Nairobi News

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has scaled down its operations following confirmation of ten cases of coronavirus among the staff.

In a memo to all staff members, PSC has asked their employees to proceed on self-isolation in their respective homes.

CLOSED

PSC said they will be closed for 14 days, effective from June 13-24 and access to the commission offices will be restricted.

“During this period, access to Commission offices will be restricted except where there is prior clearance by the Secretary/CEO,” the memo reads.

The 10 samples of staffers who returned positive results for Covid-19 were discovered after a mass testing of the entire workforce at PSC that was carried out on July 1, 2020.

FUMIGATION

The memo further states that fumigation and sterilisation of the building will be done “to ensure that any contamination of surfaces by the virus is eliminated.”

On Sunday, the country reported that the number of those infected had crossed the 10,000 mark after 379 people tested positive for the virus.

Nairobi continues to register high figures of the positive cases, reporting 209 from the total new cases.
