Ramzzy has now revealed that the decision was to protect the privacy of their children.
According to Ramzzy, the couple’s YouTube Page, ‘The Green Calabash’ which was just shy of 100,000 subscribers was meant to come to an end at some point.
According to Ramzzy, the couple felt their children needed privacy, particularly after they started adapting to their school routine.
He said that he would like his children to blend into society and also have the same experiences he did growing up, without his name attached to them everywhere they go.
“For us it was always timed. With different phases in life, you sort of have priorities where you dial some things up, you dial some things down, and I think for me now that my kids are in that age where they are joining school,” said Ramzzy on an interview with KTN, Sunday.
“I just felt that for their own privacy and how they integrate into that life, it’s nice that I sort of give them that privacy that I had so that’s why we took down a lot of the content, you know obviously kids are growing up, they will look differently from how they looked when they were babies, so I’d love for them to have the opportunity to just blend in to society…” he added.
The art enthusiast said he will eventually resume content creation, but this time, with focus on his life in Malindi, where the couple had moved to sometime in July 2021.
“Definitely I’m going to resume YouTube, maybe show a lot more people about Malindi, the properties here…yea that’s one reason I would come back on the YouTube side, just me sharing bits of me, not so much the family…”
Ramzzy and Shiko Nguru shared intimate details of their family of five, through their ‘Green Calabash’ channel on YouTube.
So popular was their channel that they were featured on BBC News when they filmed the home birth of their youngest son.
Ramzzy confirmed news of the couple’s break up through his Instagram Page on January 28, 2022, amid rumours sparked by his Ms Nguru’s return to Nairobi.
“Shiko’s still my baby mama so I won’t allow her to be disrespected. We have kids to protect, not adults to entertain. I wish her all the best on her way back to Nairobi,” Ramzzy wrote in part.
“Two adults sat down and figured there is nowhere in the world people would sacrifice individual ambition and peace for emotional security as a couple. I was brought here by God’s glory so I’ve got to stay and make some bank for my kids. I’m already an investor on these sides,” he added.
