Police in Siaya impounded 250 litters of illicit brew on Thursday night.
Officer on patrol stopped a Saloon car with Uganda number plate on Kanyumba-Sigomre road, but the driver and his passenger declined. As they drove away, the vehicle got stuck in mud and the driver and his passengers ran away.
Ugenya police boss Willy Simba said officers found jerricans of illicit brew in the vehicle.
Mr Simba said the vehicle was towed to Ukwala Police Station. He added that search for the suspects is on.
The police boss said war on illicit brew and bhang in the region had been intensified.
Three days ago, police impounded bhang worth Sh2.5 million believed to be from Ugandan.
