Singer Mr Seed speaks after surviving night accident in Ngara

Gospel singer Mr Seed was on Friday, May 22 involved in an accident at Globe Roundabout in Ngara, Nairobi.

Speaking exclusively to SDE from Central Police Station, Mr Seed narrated that he was from a video shoot when the accident occurred at around 7pm.

Mr Seed said he was being chauffeured home in his Nissan Bluebird when it was rammed on its right side and overturned.

Thanking God for walking out alive save for minor injuries and bruises especially by his driver who suffered a broken nose, he added that the incident happened in flash.

He revealed that the other driver on realizing what had happened, fled the scene, but the owner- a lady, later turned up and was present in a follow-up of the accident at Central on Saturday, May 23.

“I’m fine. I can’t explain how it happened. I was in the backseat and all I remember is my car being hit from the side. It lost control, hit the pavement and overturned. I walked out in a bit of pain but no visible injuries,” said Mr Seed.

As of the other driver, “He is ok. He jumped out and fled, but the owner came. I hope to be back at Central to follow it up on Tuesday considering tomorrow is a Sunday and Monday is a public holiday.”

The incident puts a spotlight on Ngara months after fellow gospel star Papa Dennis allegedly plummeted seven- floors to his death at a complex in Pangani on Friday night, February 8, 2020.

According to witnesses, the award-winning gospel singer was found motionless by the roadside moments after he stepped out of a building situated on the opposite side of where he was found.

“When I first heard about his passing I rushed to the scene just to confirm it’s true. Reaching, I found like only 4 people there and they pointed at a lifeless body which I had to confirm is Papa Dennis. It was a very sad scene. Rest in Peace Papa Dennis,” posted singer Daddy Owen at the time.

Months earlier, Benga star Kamande Wa Kioi was in hospital after he was involved in an accident in Nairobi’s Githurai area.

Kioi, according to Kikuyu musician Sammidoh, was travelling from Kasarani to Kahawa West when his car collided with a bus.

“When I found him, he was standing at the door. I notified Kiamumbi OCS of the accident and called Kioi’s nephew Magwa, who doubles up as his backup dancer, for help. Magwa drove my car away while I assisted Kioi as his car got towed away to Kiamumbi Police Station. Kioi had a bruise, he was complaining of chest pains and was taken to hospital for further check-up,” said Sammidoh.
