However, no look is officially complete without the addition of the right accessories. Jewelry and handbags are no brainers but one accessory everyone tends to overlook are hats!

Fall and Winter 2020 will definitely have a larger focus on headwear and there are a few different styles currently on everyone’s radar. If you are not a hat person, I hope this changes your mind! They can totally level up an entire look while also being quite practical – especially as it gets colder. So without further ado, I present to you the best hats to get excited about for the new season!

This past summer, bucket hats were definitely a staple accessory in my wardrobe. This is yet another trend that has resurfaced from the late 90’s and is now a ubiquitous item popping up all over the fashion world. Street style enthusiasts, minimal dressers and celebrities continue to rock the bucket hat. Add a fall twist by opting for bucket hats in darker colors and different textures (such as faux-fur or velvet). It is such an easy way to add some style to an everyday look.

The Parisians know best. This season, we are seeing a resurgence in the classic beret. As more romantic and feminine styles continue to trend, I think the beret really lends itself well to these looks considering it originated from the country containing the City of Love. Personally, I think the beret looks so good with your more polished looks. Tailored blazers, soft trousers and trench coats are all pieces that match the beret vibe.

Also, a quick shout out to the newsboy cap, as it is very similar in style to the beret making it a good alternative if you want to switch it up. This hat features a puffy texture top with a short brim and is very classic but I am continuing to see a lot more contemporary versions. Plaid patterns and faux-leather are just some of the examples of how you will be seeing the newsboy cap this fall.

A wintertime classic is how I would describe the beanie! This is a prime example of trendy, yet practical fashion. Whether you prefer a solid knit beanie or a beanie adorned with trim and lace, you will definitely thank yourself for hopping on this hat trend. They always look really adorable while also keeping your head nice and warm during the colder seasons.

Lastly, this is another headwear trend that really took flight in the summer. It is still building momentum so it is something we will definitely be seeing in the upcoming weeks. Simple baseball caps will be perfect additions to your fall looks. To style it, try creating some tousled waves and tying it back into a low pony. You can pull out a few front pieces of hair to frame your face.

What fall hats will you be rocking this season?
