After weeks and weeks of lounging around at home in casual wear, it’s time to freshen up your wardrobe with some key pieces. Luckily, you don’t have to spend a fortune to do so with retailers like Walmart stepping up their fashion game and making the latest trends even more affordable. You guys know I’m all about a high-and-low mix when it comes to fashion, and I’m a big believer that you don’t have to spend a ton to look stylish. The outfit I’m wearing today is proof of that, so I wanted to share more ways you can dress the part without breaking the bank. Keep scrolling for some of my favorite under-$50 pieces that will shake up your weekly outfits.
1. Ruffled One-Pieces
Nothing screams summer like a ruffled frock. Easy one-pieces like dresses and jumpsuits are especially ideal for right now since they’re just as comfortable as sweatpants but look more put-together. This jumpsuit from Walmart is prime example with the wide, cropped legs and off-the-shoulder neckline – it feels like loungewear but without the look. Walmart has such a great selection of ruffles pieces for under $50. You’ll definitely want to add a few to your set of weekly outfits.
2. Sporty Sandals
Whether you love or hate them, sporty sandals are taking over. I’m all for this trend because it’s comfortable, adds a little bit of edge to a basic look, and feels unexpectedly cool. Take them for a spin in park or while you’re on vacation – you won’t regret it one bit. I love that these Steve Madden sandals feature rhinestones, so the stand out a bit more (also love these). I’ll be keeping them on rotation throughout the season.
3. Rope Bag
Basket bags will always be a summer staple, but woven rope bags are definitely the updated version to get on board with this summer. The casual, laid back vibe is a great way to add texture to your outfit but without the weight. You can even use them as a shopping bag while you’re running errands. I’m carrying this macramé bag from Walmart, which is available in four stunning colors! It’s only $15 and worth every penny!
4. Neon Brights
Sometimes, changing up your weekly outfits is as simple as adding a new color way. These days, it’s all about bright, saturated hues. Whether it’s a handbag or a flirty top paired with your favorite sweatpants, you’ll exude nothing but confidence and turn heads. Not sure how to incorporate neon colors into your look? Use it to accent neutral-colored pieces like a black jumpsuit or white dress.
What wardrobe updates have you made in preparation of summer?
