Three quack journalists were on Tuesday arrested in Pipeline area of Nakuru Town after they sought an interview from former NACADA Chairman John Mututho.
The fake journalists, two men and one woman, who masqueraded as Citizen TV crew from Nairobi, failed to produce their accreditation cards after Mututho raised issue with their identity.
“Asubuhi ya leo, wameanza kupiga simu kutoka kitu kama saa mbili…wameweka pressure na 10 calls mpaka saa tano ndio nikakutana nao,” said Mututho.
“Wananiambia hiyo report inahitajika na it must be aired by 1pm today…sasa mimi nashindwa ni gani hii, mimi sibebi mambo za corona…”
Nakuru County operational intelligence officers and police officers rushed to the scene and, during the arrest, discovered a camera, tripod and microphone.
The three have since been taken to the Mwariki Police Station where the vehicle they had used was also towed to as investigations begin.
The leader of the trio of quacks, Peter Manjau, has been arrested previously in Nyeri under similar circumstances and has several complaints filed against him.
“I’m a citizen of Kenya, you need to understand the difference between Citizen TV and a citizen of this country,” said Manjau.
