A Twitter user has came under fire after an ill-advised attempt to lecture Harambee Stars captain and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Victor Wanyama, on how to spend his hard-earned cash.
The tweep unwittingly made Wanyama a top trending topic on Twitter by ranting on how ‘stingy’ the Spurs midfielder is.
To drive his point home, the tweep compared Wanyama to the ‘philanthropic’ efforts of retired Ivory Coast striker, Didier Drogba.
He also faulted Wanyama for not helping his fellow countrymen inspite of the humongous weekly wage he earns in England.
This hospital has been constructed by Didier Drogba right from the purchase of land. Our Own Victor Wanyama earns 28 million every month but has not constructed a single classroom in his backyard which will cost him a mere 700k. pic.twitter.com/xXtNtTZeuO

Wanyama, who joined the London-based club, three years ago from Southampton, reportedly earns a weekly wage of Sh9 million (70,000 pounds), has a contract that runs until the year 2021.
However, Kenyans on Twitter were quick to remind the tweep that Wanyama was not voted in by anyone and therefore he owes no one any schools or hospitals and that there is a sitting national government elected by the people to handle such matters.
I’m so sure Wanyama ata akajenga shule na hospitali, your governor ataenda hapo for the grand opening and you will cheer your governor and not Wanyama, so stop with this bullshit, deal with the person you voted for, wanyama akule kwa raha zake ala!

I saw Wanyama trending and almost thought something had happened to him. Kumbe it is because he has not, like Didier Drogba, built classrooms and hospitals with the taxes you pay him.

The provision of social amenities is the responsibility of government to whom you pay taxes. Don’t ask private citizens like Victor Wanyama to do what your taxes should be doing.

You guys leave Victor Wanyama alone and let’s focus on these relatives of his. Did the DNA results ever come out? Did the media do a follow up after all that hype? Are they real twins @citizentvkenya @KTNKenya @NTVnewsroom pic.twitter.com/36xlxZmfBS

So Wanyama should also give back to KWS because his name is Wanyama?
It’s about time you hold your leaders responsible & not vent your anger at professional players plying their trade abroad.
And oh before I forget, Maids in Saudi Arabia should build maternal hospitals here!

All the people with money in Kenya it’s Wanyama you want to out pressure on.

Victor wanyama can do whatever he pleases with his money … you what have you done for the community ata kama ni kuokota takataka … #tabia

On Wanyama I’d like to say the pride he has brought Kenya as an international player in the highest tournaments in the world is incomparable to anything of monitory value.
B4 you start bagging private citizens on what they spend on, bag your gov. Oliech did much, you bashed him.
