July 4 will definitely be interesting this year, but it won’t stop me from celebrating. I’m especially looking for a good excuse to do something out of the ordinary these days and the holiday presents the perfect opportunity. Whether it’s a small BBQ or a picnic in the park, you should definitely take advantage too. It happens to fall on a Saturday this year, which means that even if you don’t have plans lined up, you’ll probably be out on the porch or at a park enjoying the heat. With that in mind, here are some ideas on what to wear for 4th of July this year!
White With A Pop of Red
Not in the mood for a full-blown patriotic look? No problem, just add a pop of red to a monochromatic white outfit and you’re good to go. This can be in the form of an over shirt, quilted sandals, or a mini bag. If it’s too hot for denim, just opt for denim cutoffs and you’ll be good in the heatwave. I love that it’s subtle, chic, but incorporates a bit of that American flair.
Tie-Strap Details
If you want to be even more subtle with the patriotic ensemble, then you really can’t go wrong with a summer dress or blouse. Amp it up for Independence Day with tie-strap details. It’s such a brilliant way to draw attention to the neckline and makes for an incredibly feminine look. I’m a fan of flowy midi dresses at the moment, but you can also pair a bodysuit with a ruffle skirt.
Jumpsuit + Sporty Sandals
For an easy, breezy yet casual, cool look, pair a jumpsuit or romper with edgy sandals. You can get really creative here and add chic summer prints into the mix like gingham and statement florals – or simply go with a bold number. The mix of feminine and masculine elements will surely put you in the spotlight.
One Piece Swim + Large Sun Hat
If you’re anything like me, then public pools, water parks, and beaches are far out of reach for a while. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t slip into a cute swimsuit! Turn on the sprinklers for the kids or set up a blow up pool and chill in the backyard. Just don’t forget a floppy sun hat and your favorite book!
Blue Stripes
Still can’t decide on what to wear for 4th of July? My last recommendation is to throw on some stripes and call it a day. It doesn’t have to be red, white, and/or blue either! Stripes exude that Americana vibe yet feel minimalistic at the same time so you can literally pull it off all throughout the season. A matching set or maxi dress will get you through the entire weekend in style.
What do you guys plan to wear for 4th of July this year?
