The symbolic end of summer is coming closer! I cannot believe we are coming up on Labor Day. Although this is not the summer I had ever envisioned, I am grateful I had this opportunity to have some quality time with my husband and children. It is really nice that New York has slowly opened back up and I have taken advantage of outdoor dining a few times now! Whether you plan on heading to a restaurant on Labor Day or hosting an intimate bbq with some friends, it is always nice to dress up for the holiday – especially if you haven’t had the chance these past few months! I love either paying homage to the summer season or gearing up for fall with transitional pieces. So, here are some quick and easy ideas for what to wear on Labor Day.

Jumpsuit & Statement Bag

Rompers and jumpsuits are some of my favorite go-to items in the summer because they are so effortlessly chic. This Labor Day, you can keep it easygoing with a solid colored jumpsuit in a soft fabrication. A linen blend option is so comfortable and great for running around with the kids! To keep it more fashionable, jazz it up with a statement handbag. Adding a belt to the middle of the waist on a one piece is also a great tip for accentuating your curves!

Bold Summer Dress

One of my favorite things about summer are the dresses. If you are feeling a bit of end-of-season sadness, do not worry! You can celebrate the closing of the summertime and hang on to your brighter hues and bold patterns a little longer. For Labor Day, bust out your favorite bold dress for one last spin. The more vibrant and the colors and the more playful the patterns, the better! Feel free to add heavier necklaces and statement earrings to further accentuate the look.

Romantic Ruffles

Not sure what to wear on Labor Day? Wear your heart on your sleeve with an endlessly romantic ensemble. Vintage trends such as ruffles, puff sleeves and lace were trending these past few months so why not wear them this upcoming Labor Day? A sweet, delicate ruffled skirt is feminine and chic! Just perfect if you plan on venturing out for an outdoor dinner or even to the park for a picnic during golden hour.

Introduction of Fall Basics

As I mentioned, Labor Day is a symbolic bon voyage to summer and a warm welcome to autumn. If you are ecstatic for the colder weather and cannot wait any longer, this is a great opportunity to start introducing some of those fall accessories and items into your outfit. No matter what trends seem to come and go, I feel plaid blazers will always be a constant must-have during this time of year. I juxtaposed the tailored fit of it with my cozy sweatpants. I also used this look as an opportunity to bust out some of my favorite black booties!

Short Suit Set

If you want the best of both worlds, a short suit is a great way to go. A plaid pattern typically lends itself more with the fall season but this particular design features a lighter color palette, making it totally wearable in the end of summer too. The matching blazers and shorts make getting dressed a piece of cake, leaving you more time to play around with different accessories. You can play with platform sneakers to keep the look more street style rather than business attire.

Hope this gives you a little inspiration for what to wear on Labor Day!
