Newly promoted Stuttgart are a historic club fallen on tough times. Their stadium is named after the city’s most famous export, Mercedes-Benz, and they’re rebuilding under the leadership of CEO Thomas Hitzlsperger, one of the sport’s only openly gay men, and Italian American manager Pellegrino Matarazzo, who grew up in New Jersey.
