Police in Kiambu have launched a manhunt for a woman who allegedly chopped off the private part of her son.
The son of the suspect is said to be one-year and eight months old and it’s unclear what transpired leading to the woman’s bizarre act.
According to the child’s father, who reported the matter at Tigoni Police Station, his wife fled immediately after committing the act.
A neighbor in Kamandura village, where the incident happened, told the police that the woman had told her that she had disposed of her son’s genital in their pit latrine.
Confirming the incident, Tigoni OCPD Mwaniki Ireri said the child, who was rushed to Kijabe Mission hospital, was in critical condition.
