5 Kenyan Media Couples That Got Married in 2019

The day you get married is one of the most important days of your life. It’s the day when you embark on your fairy tale, beaming with the hopes of a happily-ever-after.

Romance was in the air across various media houses, with several lovebirds making the brave walk down the aisle over the last year.

Here’s a list of five media personalities who tied the knot in 2019.

1.) Sam Gituku and Ivy Waitherero

On May 25, 2019, the two walked down the aisle in an event attended by some of the biggest names in the media industry. The couple exchanged their vows at the Deliverance Church, Karen and later treated their guests to a reception at the Nairobi Academy.

Gituku is a news anchor at Citizen TV while Ms Waitherero is a news director at the same station. Some of the renown journalists that attended the wedding included; Waihiga Mwaura, Mac Otani and Joe Ageyo.

2.) Fridah Mwaka and Samuel Nguma Ndhuli.

KTN Swahili news anchor, Fridah Mwaka, got married in a colourful wedding on Saturday, November 30, 2019.
The news anchor tied the knot with the love of her life Samuel Nguma Ndhuli, in an event that took place at Mnarani Club, Kilifi County.

Ms Mwaka and her groom – an architect by profession, were childhood sweethearts who have known each other for 17 years.

3.) Hudheifa Aden and  Faiza Sharafsan

On Saturday, December 7, former NTV business anchor Hudheifa Aden officially exited the bachelor’s club as he tied the knot in a private ceremony in Nairobi. Friends and family took to social media to send their congratulatory messages.

“Congratulations to my brother Hudheifa Aden and my dear sister-in-law whose wedding took place today in Nairobi,” Shukri Mohamed Faarah conveyed.

Communication Strategist Xubbi Farah, “Today is a special day for me, two of my favorite people tie the knot. Please join me in wishing Hudheifa Aden and Faiza Sharafsan a blessed marriage. Love and blessings,”

4.) Michelle Morgan and Peng Cheng

In May, former Citizen TV news anchor, Michelle Morgan, tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Peng Cheng.

The journalist walked down the aisle in a colorful wedding that took place at a private beach in Seychelles.

Michelle expressed her delight on her Instagram page, where she made the grand announcement.

“Nothing makes me happier than to announce to that I am now Ms Chen #married #soulmate #elopmentwedding,” Ms Morgan wrote.

5.) Wycliffe Orangi and Sheila Achieng

On Saturday, September 7, Citizen TV news anchor Wycliffe Orangi said I do to the love of his Sheila Achieng’, who once served as the deputy head of Human Resources at Royal Media Services.

The ceremony took place at CITAM Karen in Nairobi and was attended by colleagues from the media house such as news director Monica Kiragu, Sports editor Mike Okinyi, radio presenter Patrick Igunza as well as Hassan Mugambi.
