Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has pledged to support the surviving children of Everline Namukhula, the 28-year-old woman who last month gave birth to quintuplets and passed on in hospital on Sunday.
While expressing his condolences to the family of the deceased, the vocal lawmaker blamed the Kenyan health system for failing Kenyans.
“I commit to support her family during this trying time. We will do our best to ensure her surviving children are looked after,” Babu said.
Cont…. I offer my profound condolences to her family and to the community of Kakamega county at large for this loss. I commit to support her family during this trying time. We will do our best to ensure her surviving children are looked after.

Ms Namukhula gained national fame when she gave birth to three girls and two boys on March 13, 2019, through a Caesarean Section at Kakamega General Hospital.
Ms Namukhula, who hailed from Shisokhe Village in Navakholo, died on Sunday from a complication at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret.
Two (both boys) of her five infants also died last week following complications, while the surviving babies are still being monitored in hospital.
The deceased and her husband, Herbert Wawire, have four other children and lived in Sisokhe Village, Navakholo Constituency.
