Happy Wednesday! There’s been so much tension lately that I hope you all are staying safe and informed. In my last post, I shared a few ways you can support the Black community in times of crisis – and really emphasized supporting Black-owned businesses. Today, I’m putting together a list of 10 Black-owned fashion and beauty brands that you can support from your home in case you’re not going out. Note that I tried to focus on smaller brands that you may not be familiar with or know that’s “Black-owned”. While I do love and support brands like Fenty and Pat McGrath Labs, they won’t be on this list. Scroll ahead for my picks!

I also want to say that I completely understand if you’re in no position to make a purchase right now. Feel free to share or bookmark this post for later. You can also support these brands by engaging with/following them on social media, writing a positive review, or signing up for their newsletter!

Briogeo

Briogeo is one of my personal favorite haircare brands. The founder, Nancy Twine, basically turned her grandma’s homemade hair care products into an actual line. I love that its products are not just naturally-based but deliver results almost instantaneously. This conditioning mask is a staple in my household.

KNC Beauty

Looking to keep your pout hydrated and nourished for soft kissable lips? KNC Beauty is the place to shop! This brand created the first all natural, collagen-infused lip mask (here). After use, it even primes the lips for lipstick. Make sure you grab the lip balm too while you’re at it!

OUI the People

Oui the People offers aesthetic razors that are more gentle on the skin than your average safety razor – and more effective. While expensive, you can be sure of the quality and durability as they’re made from some of the best razor manufacturers in Europe. The razors are also engineered to deliver the closest, smoothest shave ever without razor bumps or irritation.

Hyper Skin

If pigmentation and discoloration are skincare priorities in your life, then enter Hyper Skin. They’re known for this Vitamin C serum, which is packed with hyper-effective ingredients like turmeric (which I LOVE), kojic acid, bearberry and more!

Brother Vellies is obviously a brand I love and support regularly (shoes above by the one and only – Brother Vellies!). Their philosophy is not just to design “products” but to create art pieces and outlets of self-expression, which I relate to on so many levels. But more importantly, their handbags and shoes are unlike anything else on the market.

The Fuzzy Pineapple

If you are pro-shopping small, then definitely check out The Fuzzy Pineapple for customized apparel and accessories. I’m really digging their tie-dye sweatshirts and hoodies.

Marie Hunter Beauty

A beauty brand I discovered in my research is Marie Hunter Beauty, a lipstick and skincare line that’s non-toxic, cruelty-free, and mostly vegan-friendly. The range of bold lipsticks they offer is right up my alley. They also just dropped a new line of candles, so be sure to grab a few!

Tier NYC

Sweatsuits and loungewear are the rage, and the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down. That’s why you should shop Tier NYC. I love the use of muted bold colors and minimalistic sets, which are perfect everyday.
