How to dress up your loungewear this Winter

[ad_1]

As loungewear becomes a staple part of our identity and weekly outfit lineup, I wanted to share some ways you can dress them up this winter. I know that on Instagram, my winter style seems like I’m always dressed head to toe in statement pieces, but in real life, I’m a sweatpants and hoodie kind of girl. That said, I’ve tried just about every combo you can throw on with casual loungewear pieces. Below, you’ll find some of my go-to style tips to keep these casual pieces novel every time.jessica wang wears a gray maxi coat to dress up loungewear // Jessica Wang - Notjessfashion.com

1. Throw on a maxi or faux fur coat

The no-brainer way to dress up any winter outfit is going after the right coat. For that luxe, elevated vibe, there are only two coat styles I swear by – a maxi coat or faux fur coat. Both statement pieces essentially conceal what you’re wearing underneath and look completely glamorous on their own.

2. Tuck your bottoms into tall boots

The idea of slouchy knit pants tucked into tall boots probably sounds like a tacky combo, but it’s essentially the same concept as trousers tucked into boots. I think you’ll even be surprised by how stylish and forward it looks. Plus, your legs will stay extra warm. I suggest pairing this combo with a moto jacket or oversized blazer for a high impact ensemble.

3. Pair joggers, sweatpants, or tights with a bodysuit

The slim-fitting nature of a bodysuit makes an outfit feel more polished no matter what you’re wearing. You can dress up your loungewear further by looking for bodysuits with a unique neckline, feminine cutouts, or deep V cut. From there, just throw on your favorite coat and sneakers – and you’re all set.

4. Mix in metallics

If you’d rather keep your loungewear cozy with similar casual pieces, opt for metallic hues to give it that extra special pop. I love a metallic puffer jacket, fun silver booties, or an oversized bag. You’ll likely see me bringing out these reflective hues in the midst of a blizzard or while on a winter vacation!

5. Juxtapose textures

To instantly bring in more interest into your daily loungewear looks, you gotta add texture. Hands down, my go-to winter texture is faux leather – or patent leather if you want to step outside the box. It makes an outfit feel less like loungewear and more like streetwear. The beauty is that you still get to enjoy the comfort of what’s truly loungewear. I linked some of my favorite faux leather pieces here.
