Siaya Deputy Governor (DG) William Oduol has vowed to work with the Kenya Kwanza government for the sake of development.
The embattled DG, who survived impeachment on June 26, said he has made a deliberate decision to work with the Kenya Kwanza because he believes that it is the right approach to transform Siaya County.
“When it comes to gov’t functions, I will act as the Governor going forward. While I remain the substantive deputy Governor,” he said when he accompanied CS Eliud Owalo to the launch of digital laboratories in the region on Saturday.
Elected on an ODM ticket, Oduol said he made the decision to work with Kenya Kwanza since the coalition saved him from impeachment at the Senate.
“These people saved me, if your brother puts a sledgehammer on your head, about to break it, and your neighbour passes by and saves you from your brother, who would you run to? Your neighbour.”
Since his fallout with Siaya Governor James Orengo and subsequent impeachment trial at the County Assembly and Senate, Oduol has not been on good terms with his boss.
Two weeks ago, Oduol was attacked by unknown persons when he returned to his office.
