President William Ruto has made fresh Cabinet nominations, bringing several former politicians back into government.
In a statement from Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, President Ruto nominated former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo as Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy.
Meanwhile, Mutahi Kagwe, who previously served as Health Cabinet Secretary under former President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been nominated as Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture.
Kagwe will take over the Agriculture portfolio from Dr. Andrew Karanja, who has been nominated as Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil.
Additionally, former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been nominated to serve as Cabinet Secretary for Investment, Trade, and Industry previously held by Salim Mvurya who has been moved to the Sports Ministry which falls vacant following the appointment of Kipchumba Murkomen as Interior CS.

President William Ruto has made key changes to his Cabinet, reassigning Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen to the Interior Ministry, a position left vacant after Kithure Kindiki was appointed Deputy President.
The reshuffle, announced on Thursday by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, also saw Salim Mvurya moved from the Investments, Trade and Industry Ministry to head the Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports Ministry, filling the vacancy left by Murkomen’s departure.
In a further adjustment, former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been nominated to take over the Trade Ministry, previously held by Mvurya.
