Try something different in Dorset and sign up for a clay pigeon shooting lesson. This fun, safe and cruelty-free sport is not as difficult as it looks, and kids can also have a go. You’ll learn the basics and safety measures of using a shotgun and how to shoot clay pigeons (round clay targets) that are thrown from a clay trap into the air to mimic the flight of game birds.
It’s a really great day out and a nice way to learn a bit more about Dorset’s rural roots and enjoy countryside views.

DBW Clay Company is based on a 10-acre site on the edge of the village of Pimperne near Blandford Forum in Dorset. The company specialises in introducing people, both young and old to Clay shooting on their scenic clay ground.
The shooting school is completely private, so if you book a lesson, a Corporate day or group of friends, you will be the only people present. They also instruct and coach several local schools throughout the year. Their Shooting Instructors (CPSA Qualified) are available to teach beginners or assist experienced shots.
Prices start at £50 for a half-hour lesson. The company provides guns, clays, cartridges and PPE.
