Just as we’ve grown sick of our winter wardrobes and the many layers they require, New York Fashion Week gives us the inspo we need to make it through the next few months. From Marc Jacobs’ minimal retro revival to Wes Gordon’s bright colours and voluminous shapes at Carolina Herrera, we’re feeling optimistic about a standout Fall 2020 season (and even taking some notes for how to dress right now.)
Leather
Checks
The print of the season checks out. With plaids and checks dominating the runways find your favourite colour-way and wear it head to toe.
Capes
There’s an elegant and ethereal vibe to this season’s capes, which range from evening pieces sweeping the ground to wool and canvas capes that offer an everyday alternative.
Volume
Make an entrance in a big, bold piece that may require an UberXL for transportation. These voluminous dresses make a lasting impression in luxe textures and vibrant colours.
Cut-Outs
Hips, shoulders and ribs all hang out in this season’s cut-out trend. Show some skin with a sliced dress or trousers that leave a little less to the imagination.
