Positivity rate rises to 16 per cent as 731 test positive for Covid-19

731 people have tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Kenya out of a sample size of 4513 in the last 24 hours.

The total confirmed positive cases now stand at 113,967 with cumulative tests so far conducted being 1,373,839.

The figures from the Health Ministry official Twitter handle state that 191 patients have recovered from the disease, with 166 from home-based and isolation care.

Twenty-five are from various health facilities, as total recoveries now stand at 88,596.

Five patients have succumbed to the disease, pushing the cumulative fatality to 1,918.

“Some 678 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 2,129 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.”

Some 109 patients are in the ICU, 23 of whom are on ventilatory support and 72 on supplemental oxygen, with 14 patients on observation.

Twenty-four patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with all of them in general wards.
