Safaricom net profit jumps to Sh63.4bn

Safaricom has reported a 14.7 per cent jump in net profit for the year ended March 2019 to Sh63.4 billion.
In the results released on Friday in Nairobi, voice service revenue grew by 0.3 percent to Sh95.9 billion while M-Pesa revenue grew by 19.2 per cent to Sh74.9 billion, making the two the largest contributors to revenue.
The telco declared a special dividend of Sh24.8 billion in addition to the normal dividend of Sh50 billion.
