As the weather gets colder and spirits get brighter, the sweaters in your closet become even more sacred as you strive to stay warm and cozy. Admittedly, I have hoarded a ton of sweaters over the past few years (and continue to hunt for more) because I think they make such easy, stylish outfits all throughout the season, especially through the holiday time period! Lucky for us, there’s a style for everyone no matter where you’ll be headed. Today, I am sharing the best holiday sweaters you can rock this Christmas and well into the new year!
Bold Print
Although we love the cutesy, holiday themed sweaters, add a more contemporary twist to your knit look this year by opting for a more updated, nondescript pattern. For example, this large polka dot printed matching printed set does not necessarily read ‘holiday’ but is still fun and festive, especially when paired with accessories like coordinating booties and handbag.
Grandma Sweater
Celebrate the holidays with a more vintage vibe by opting for a sweater that looks like it is borrowed straight from your grandmother’s closet! There are a few different variations of the grandma sweater trend but the key details to look for bobbles, floral applique, crochet, and scalloped edging. This is such a sweet, delicate look perfect for an intimate family dinner!
Embellished
Of course, the holidays would not be the same without some bling. Embellished anything is one of my favorite things to wear because I can never seem to resist some sparkle and shine. Of course, your embellished top can be as subdued or statement-making as you’d like. Even bows or a few rhinestones is a really nice accent detail to add that touch of glamour to your cozy holiday sweaters.
Classic Fair isle
A sweater that always makes its way back each year is that classic holiday fair isle print. This is such a staple for this time of year and really embodies that cozy winter aesthetic. A fair isle sweater is a great knit option if you want to choose a casual outfit for the holidays. Just toss it on with some denim and a cute pair of booties!
Cutout Sweater
On the other hand, if you are looking for a dressier knit style, I highly recommend the cutout sweater. Whether it is a keyhole cutout, elbow notch, cold shoulders, or open back – they all offer such an updated, contemporary look that can be mixed and matched with a multitude of different bottoms.
Sweater Dress
The last option I want to recommend for holiday sweaters is another personal favorite of mine. For your holiday plans, you could also choose to go for the sweater dress route. I absolutely love pairing a cozy sweater dress with some killer boots and a long coat. Any calf or OTK boots will make the perfect Christmas look whether you’re going to an office party, family dinner, or a friend’s house.
Which of these holiday sweaters would you rock?
